Backing up your photosThis is a featured page

Have you ever had a problem with your computer and the first thing that runs through your mind is "Did I burn all my photos to a cd?". I know that has happened to me on more than one occassion. Now I'm not a technical whiz by any stretch of the imagination, but fortunately my son in law is. At his suggestion I went out an purchased this external hard drive to back up and store my photos.
Turns out that it was relatively easy to do. This one that I bought only required that you locate the ac and usb cords and plug them into the appropriate ports. The computer does the rest of the install. With the quick start program I selected two folders, My Pictures and Pam's Stuff (my really important documents and downloads go here) and hit START. I also indicated during the set up that I wanted automatic back up for any new items I add to those two folders. What could be easier than that?
This particular model states on the box that it will store up to 90,000 photos. I don't have a clue as to how many photos I actually have in my folder at the present, but I'm hoping I have a little space left over.
So, if you have all of your photos backed up in one form or another I say good for you! If not, you should really consider investing about what a good CF card would cost and get yourself an external back up system.
